CLEGAR — Marine Geoscience & Offshore Advisory

Legal

Privacy
notice.

This notice explains which personal data the website www.clegar.it collects, why it collects them, how long they are kept and what rights you can exercise. It is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is CLEGAR S.r.l., VAT and tax code 07422540828, registered office in Palermo, Italy. For any question about your personal data you may write to info@clegar.it.

CLEGAR has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO): its activity does not fall within the cases in which Article 37 GDPR makes one mandatory. Requests should therefore be addressed directly to the controller.

2. What data we collect

This is a static website: it requires no registration, creates no accounts and has no restricted area. The only data processed are the following.

  • aConnection dataThe site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, the hosting infrastructure automatically records the IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and the browser type. These are technical logs handled by the hosting provider, needed to deliver the service and keep it secure. CLEGAR does not access them and does not use them for analysis.
  • bData you send through the contact formFull name, company, email address, area of interest and the text of your message. You provide them freely: only the email address and the description are needed for us to reply.
  • cPreferences stored in your browserThe site stores your chosen language and your answer to the cookie banner in your browser. They remain on your device, are not transmitted to us or to third parties, and exist only so that you are not asked the same questions on every visit.
  • dUsage statisticsIf, and only if, you consent, Google Analytics collects aggregated data about the pages visited and the navigation path, with the IP address anonymised. We do not use them for profiling or advertising.

3. Why we process them and on what legal basis

Answering your enquiries. The contact form data are used to read your enquiry and reply to it. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at your request, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Providing the data is optional, but without an email address we cannot reply.

Delivering and securing the website. Connection data are processed on the basis of the controller's legitimate interest in making the site available and protecting it from abuse, under Article 6(1)(f).

Understanding how the site is used. Usage statistics are processed solely on the basis of your consent, under Article 6(1)(a). Consent is freely given, does not affect access to the content and can be withdrawn at any time.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The site sets no profiling cookies and carries no advertising. No measurement tool starts before your choice: until you answer the banner, or if you decline, no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookie is stored.

The language and consent preferences are not cookies in the technical sense: they are local storage entries that stay in your browser until you clear the site data. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings; deleting the consent entry brings the banner back so you can change your answer.

Google Analytics cookies, if you consent, last no longer than fourteen months.

5. Who else sees the data

Data are never sold, transferred or disclosed. They are accessible only to those within CLEGAR who need to read your enquiry in order to reply, and to the providers running the site's technical services, acting as data processors:

  • 01GitHub, Inc. – GitHub PagesWebsite hosting. A Microsoft group company based in the United States.
  • 02Google Ireland Limited – Google AnalyticsUsage statistics, active only after consent.

Both providers may also process data in the United States. The transfer takes place under the European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, supplemented by the standard contractual clauses provided for in Article 46 GDPR.

6. How long we keep them

Messages received through the contact form are kept for twelve months from the last exchange, the period within which an enquiry may reasonably turn into an engagement. If a contractual relationship follows, the data are kept for the periods required by law for accounting and contractual records. Google Analytics statistics are retained for fourteen months; hosting logs follow the provider's own retention periods.

7. Your rights

Articles 15 to 22 GDPR give you the right to ask the controller for access to your data, their rectification or erasure, the restriction of processing and the portability of the data you provided. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw your consent to statistics at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise them, simply write to info@clegar.it. We reply without undue delay and in any case within one month of the request.

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes the Regulation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome – www.gpdp.it), or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

8. Updates

This notice may be updated if the site's technical services or the purposes of processing change. The version published on this page is always the one in force.
